As I read your dilema, I could see where it comes into play. I like the idea of eating better. I love my veggies, I always did, however I also enjoy the taste of a good steak. I went to amazon to look at the book you spoke about and think I will have to order it. I think I will give it a try, yet also give it my own twist. My hubby is a big meat person and for him he feels he needs it in every meal. I feel ok about eating meat all things in moderation as they say. The meat that we do eat is better than you get in the store because of the way the animal is fed. Living where I do, I am able to have a farmer who breeds and feeds the cattle or pig whole grain, wheat. Anyway you order what you want he tags them raises them then butches them according to what you want. So if you do not want them fed with all the chemical like in the store all natural feeding is what you get. Believe it or not you can taste the difference in the meat. Eat that then the same thing from the store and you definitly taste the differnce. A little more expensive, but I feel worth it.  And with growing most of my own veggies, I feel I am not eating as bad some others may who shop at the store, I even get my milk and dairy products from the dairy farm. Alot of running to all the different places, only cause of the distance between the farms. But agian I feel worth it.
