My animal family is a small but loving one..I currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a hamster, and a gerbal. My 2 dogs my family and I rescued. Rusty my big dog ( a pointer-lab mix) thinks I belong to him...lol Rusty I have had for almost 7 years now. A friend of mine had him as a pup but he stayed outside all the time and they lived on a major highway. So I asked if I could have him and give him a good home. Butters (lil dog) is a mix breed. My husband found him and 7 of his brothers and sisters in the state park. My husband found homes for all but Butters he kept him for the family.

My 2 cats are also rescued pets. Missy Lou is a bobtail cat that weighs no lie about 15 pounds....lol...She was found in my roof one winter. Her mother had the kittens up there because it is warm there (woodburning stove)She fell out one day and we watched he fall and took her in. Tigger is my lil cat she was recued from Arby's parking lot. Her mother had been ran over in the drive-thru. She was beside her mother crying(meowing)So I took an empty box and brought her home.

The hamster's name is sceeter. He is a teddybear hamster. He like to chill and eat..lol The gerbals name is Weeman from a popular MTV show. She is a hyper little thing.

Thank you for reading about my animal family. Please feel free to add your own stories if you have any.

Wow! You have a big animal family and they all seem like wonderful pets. My daughter and I have only one pet, her name is Starr and she's Terrier mix. We rescured her two in a half months ago from an animal rescure shelter at the age of two months. She was very sick her first month with us and the vet wasn't sure she'd make it but we won't give up on her and to the vets surprise she's a health very active puppy!!! She follows us everywhere and loves to give kisses. She even sleeps in my lap when I'm meditating big grin

It was great reading about your many pets and thank you for reading about mine. Blessed Be

Me.

I agree, Renee has a Huge pet family. Mine is much smaller. I am a dog person in a house full of cat people. My mother has a cat (more like a giant orange tabby male monster) named Strider, and I have my little Luna.

She's a Brussels Griffon Terrier mix. Very mixed. We really don't know what she is actually. She has the longest tail of any small dog I have ever seen. My mother theorizes that she could be a combination of a BrussGriff Terrier and a German Shepherd...and she's serious. I'm not far behind her. The tail is that long, and she "points" occasionally.

I rescued her from the side of the highway just beyond our rural road. She was dehydrated, exhausted, and disoriented. In other words, she was at the point where animals get when they loose all sense of direction and self preservation. She would very soon be run over. She was already dodging in and out of the traffic. That is what made me stop. I couldn't go to work when there was something I could do to prevent that. I'm so glad I did.

Initially I took her to the local shelter, just in case she had a loving family like mine that would miss her. I had already fallen in love with her, so I asked them to put a hold on her for me, should the owners not show up. No one came. Their loss, my love.

(Not the best picture, but she's such a stinker about my camera. This is an unusual moment where she's actually facing the lens. Best shot yet.)
