Prayers for 8 year old victim of child abuse
by Lauren Daniels - Friday, 2 April 2010, 02:48 AM

I have never even met this little girl, but her story melted my heart and I felt I needed to light a candle for her and keep her in my thoughts:

I went to the salon today, and my hairdresser told me that one of her best clients, a father of 4 children had called her with an emergency about 2 days ago. He had walked in on his unstable wife dragging their 8 year old daughter by her foot long hair, which she (the mother) had back-combed into a giant mat. The girls' hair was so matted, that nobody could loosen it up. The mother was arrested for child abuse because come to find out, this was not her first offence, and all of her children were terrified of her.
The little girl's father brought her to my hairdresser in the hopes fixing her beautiful hair. It was an emotional experience for everyone. Although she was not able to salvage all of it, she was able to make it not only presentable, but beautiful. She has kept the mat of hair which she will use as evidence to testify against the mother in court. The hearing is next Wednesday, and this brave father is fighting for sole custody of his children. I hope to Goddess he gets it.
Please keep this little girl, her 3 brothers, her father, and my hairdresser (Vonda) in your prayers.
Also... pray that this mother finds guidance. She is truly lost.

I have four beautiful children, one boy and three so very beautiful girls... never once did I even think of harming them... no matter what they did to me.  I have told them, and still do, that no matter what they do... no matter what... I will always love them.  To not only think of harming these precious children (of this mothers), but to actually do the action, is beyond my imagination.

I never could understand what causes people to abuse their kids... when in anger... just walk away.......

I will be praying for this family of children, that they can find help in overcoming the tragic mental problems sure to result from this abuse... and I pray the lovely girls hair grows back to be even more beautiful. and this wonderful man... praying that he recieves SOLE custody... My prayers also go out to this woman,,, that she realises the harm she has done and seeks help.  But I also pray she pays for the irrevicable damage she has caused these wonderful children.

That's horrible. I don't see how people can do that kind of thing to defenseless children. My grandmother was abused as a child and it affected her mentally, and then it affected my mother and uncle as they were growing up. My mother now is an attorney and sees the kind of abuse that affected two generations of her family almost on a daily basis and she has made a vow to never treat me like her mother treated her. she has only laid a hand on me one time because I was troubled and was screaming at her, which was wrong on my part, but she apologized and we both got past it and it got me the help I needed. Anyway, i will pray for these people and make a prayer request to my coven sisters.

Do you have an update on this? There are so many issues involved here. The perpetrator needs to be contained. The victims need to be protected and healed. Same goes for those who love them.

And everyone needs to be level-headed and practical in seeking solutions, not allowing justifiable outrage to mutate into perpetuating negativity.

Visualize the best and most realistic outcomes for all concerned.

Unfortunately I do not have any new information as I only see my hairdresser every 6 weeks or so, but I will give her a call to see if she knows more about what happened. I am sure she will--she was at the hearing! More information soon to follow! Thank you so much for your prayers and concerns smile
