Membership in TFH is for people who seek to align themselves with our vision and willing to help carry out our mission in order to fulfill a life purpose. Membership in TFH is for people up for a life challenge. In the Membership Level 1 class, we will teach you about the mission and vision of our organization, as well as about what it means to be a member of The Firefly House. We're not just witches or pagans. We are vibrating, spiritual beings who seek to have a greater impact on the community and the world. You can be a member from any place in the world. You can mold the challenges to fit your life, your goals, and your vision of yourself. This organization is not just for Wiccans, Witches, Pagans, etc. The Firefly House is open to including any person, path or religion that considers nature sacred, as well as other generally like-minded individuals. Help us establish an even stronger Pagan community...an example for others to follow. One of the major goals of The Firefly House is to establish a permenant physical space out of which our group can work. We hold between 10 and 20 events each month. The founder, Iris Firemoon rents an apartment specifically to form the Firefly Covenstead. Though it is an amazing space with such a magickal energy, we are quickly outgrowing that space. In five years, we will establish a physical building to meet all of our group's needs. This building may already be built, we may need to renovate it, or we may need to build it ourselves. This space will be in a semi-wooded area, within a reasonable walking distance to the Metro. The dream made flesh should have space for ritual, meditation/sanctuary, a store, classes/activities/crafts, a kitchen, clergy offices, social space, outdoor space, and a bonfire area. To become and continue to be an active member of The Firefly House: * Enroll in our Membership Level 1 class. * Sign a membership covenant, joining the church and accepting the membership challenge. * Revisit the challenge and vision each year in a short workshop. * Make a financial commitment to our organization, so that we can provide community resources, programs, and services. For first level members, this is $10 per month or $120 per year. On the first Sunday of each month (unless noted), there is a membership meeting at 10am online (fireflyhouse.org) and at 1pm at the Firefly Covenstead in Arlington, VA. At these meetings, we will review one of the pillars of the membership challenge and discuss how we each plan to and have been committing to the challenge. This so we can support and encourage each other, as well as share ideas, trials, and triumphs. Visit The Firefly House for more information about who we are and what we do. As a member, we challenge you to: 1. Seek out a deeper or closer connection to the Divine in one's own way.
2. Observe (or be aware of) the cycles of the Sun and the Moon. 3. Seek out balance and peace on a daily basis. 4. Have a strong Will. 5. Developing a personal sense of ethics and sticking to them. 6. Seek out life-long learning. 7. Seek out optimum physical health. 8. See the simple joys in life. 9. Be kind and helpful to others. 10.
